Admit patients and perform preoperative duties such as: updating health history, confirming allergies, vital signs documentation, medication administration, and patient positioning on the surgical stretcher.
Operating room circulating duties such as: opening sterile supplies, surgical antiseptic prep, monitoring vital signs, and monitoring for breaks in sterile technique.
Recovery duties such as: monitoring vital signs, assessing postoperative pain, and providing discharge instructions. Ensures a clean and safe environment by participating in daily, weekly, monthly and on-going cleaning and disinfecting of the surgery center. Participates in audits and studies to ensure quality care is being provided through assessment and performance improvement. Maintains continuing education credits as required by the state of Washington and the surgery center. Assists in inventory management of supplies and implants. Communicates with surgery center team members to assure continuity of care.
