  • Hiring: Medical Assistant Join the Team at Coastal Next Step Coastal Next Step is a compassionate, patient-centered addiction treatment practice dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery. We are currently seeking a motivated and caring Medical Assistant to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our providers and ensuring patients receive exceptional care in a welcoming, professional environment. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals recovering from substance use disorders. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs. Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist providers during patient visits and procedures. Collect urine drug screens and process specimens according to protocol. Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider (within scope of practice). Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care. Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all clinical policies and procedures. Provide compassionate, respectful care to every patient. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Previous experience in a medical office required; addiction medicine or behavioral health experience is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications. Current CPR certification preferred.

Requirements

A high school diploma is required, and a Medical Assistant certification is preferred. Candidates must have previous medical office experience and proficiency with EMR systems.
