About the role

The Peer Specialist is responsible for developing individual rehabilitation plans and documenting client progress toward goals. They coordinate care with internal and external agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Psychiatric Rehabiltation Program(PRP) Peer Specialist - Full‑Time

Location: Princess Anne, MD

Salary Range: $40,000–$55,000 annually Schedule: 4‑day, 36-hour work week — Monday through Thursday

PRP Peer Specialist

Position Summary

The team will be responsible for the goals and strategies that make up the core of an individual client's program and progress. The Psychiatric Peer Specialist will have shared responsibility for all clients on the team.

Job responsibilities

  • Generate client assessments, develop individual rehabilitation plans, and document progress towards goals.
  • Carrying out assignments to fulfill the mission of providing sanctuary and support to clients in the community.
  • Participate in meetings as requested.
  • Coordinate care with outside agencies and internally.
  • Using the electronic medical records, input data and following through seeing services to their completion.
  • Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader

Qualifications

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Full valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Direct experience with the mental health system.
  • National certification as a Peer Specialist preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service field or equivalent experience. Formal education is required.

Requirements

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Human Services or equivalent experience and direct experience with the mental health system. Required certifications include a valid driver's license and current CPR and First Aid certification.
