The Radiologic Technologist assists Providers and clinical staff in the examination and treatment of patients, following Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care standards. This role includes clinical, radiologic, and administrative responsibilities.
Perform diagnostic x-rays as ordered.
Ensure patient safety and comfort; explain procedures clearly.
Operate and maintain radiology equipment.
Position and shield patients appropriately.
Store and manage radiographic images per protocol.
Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.
Answer phones, direct calls, and manage messages.
Maintain and update patient records.
Handle correspondence, insurance, billing, and scanning.
Support front office during busy periods.
Comply with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Obtain clinical information and vital signs.
Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments.
Perform diagnostic tests, draw blood, and process specimens.
Maintain emergency equipment and stock supplies.
Provide discharge instructions and support clinic flow.
Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR/EMR systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Sound medical reasoning and ethics.

Requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with ARRT certification and state licensure in Radiography. A high school diploma is preferred, and completion of a Medical Assistant program is desired.
