Assists in nursing care and preparation of obstetrical patients while performing scrub duties and related procedures. Manages non-clinical support through the maintenance of supplies and equipment under RN supervision.
Overview This position is responsible for assisting in nursing care and preparation of the obstetrical patient through performance of routine and delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and Perinatal Services Department.
Performs scrub duties and related procedures.
Provides non-clinical support through management of supply and equipment maintenance.
Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Education/Training/Experience Currently licensed to practice vocational nursing in California, or has successfully completed Operating Room Technician Program, or is a Nursing Assistant with surgical instrumentation experience. Previous operating room experience preferred, with demonstrated skills in scrubbing and surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and standard precautions. Previous direct patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Licenses/Certifications Current BLS-HCP Current NRP preferred CORT/CST certificate preferred
Requires a California vocational nursing license, completion of an OR Technician Program, or Nursing Assistant certification with surgical experience. Current BLS-HCP is required, with NRP and CORT/CST certifications preferred.
