What will you be doing: The Clinic Assistant (CNA - Certified Nurse Assistant) provides clinical and administrative support to nurses, physicians and allied health professionals.
The clinic assistant functions within the scope of education and certification not to exceed what is permitted by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Policy.
Monitors vital signs and intake/output as appropriate.
Documents findings in patient EMR, and reports abnormal values to designated RN.
Monitors patient comfort.
Maintains general orderliness at end of patient day.
Cleans, restocks supply carts and needle/syringe drawers and discards expired items as applicable.
Obtains new stock from designated supply and med rooms as appropriate.
Rotation of supplies as indicated.
May perform patient interviews, data collection, documentation in the medical record, area cleaning and preparation, ordering, stocking of medical supplies and general administrative support.
Provides clerical assistance, including receiving telephone calls and messages into the unit and HID scanning.
May include after-hours scheduling of patients and printing lab labels.
Adhere to the Infection prevention policy.
Help reduce the risk of health care acquired infection by complying with current CDC guidelines and Cedars Sinai policies.
Cleans patient recliner and surfaces, IV pump and workstation between patients.
Participates in quarterly deep cleaning of Alaris pumps.
Timely and accurate use of Patient Trak system.
Transports stable patients for discharge or to other departments.
Assists RN in transporting acutely ill patients to ER.
Please note, this is a 10-Hour-day shift, 4-days/week
Requires a High School Diploma/GED and a valid CNA certification in the state of California. BLS certification is required, and experience in a hospital or home health environment is preferred.
