Job Duties

  • This position is responsible for patient care that includes admission, physical examination, diagnosis and initial general medical treatment of adult and geriatric patients.
  • Monitors and manages acute and chronic medical conditions and is an ancillary member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Ensures medical record compliance with regard to state, federal regulations, JC Standards and other accrediting bodies or agencies.
  • Ensures medical record documentation compliance and appropriate completion of documentation to support reimbursement activities for medical coding and billing practices.
  • Serves as an on-call physician when scheduled and as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Virginia license to practice Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy and completion of an accredited / approved Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
  • Available to serve as an on-call physician when scheduled

Board Certification in Internal Medicine preferred.

Requirements

Requires a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, completion of an accredited Internal or Family Medicine residency, and a valid Virginia medical license and DEA registration. Board certification in Internal Medicine and experience with inpatient psychiatric populations are preferred.
