The Psychosocial Oncology department is seeking a Medical Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker.
The Social Worker provides social work services and programs to patients and caregivers utilizing social work theory, principles and methods to provide strength based assessment, evaluation, formulation and implementation of a treatment plan to address the psychosocial aspects of illness, it’s impact on the patient and caregiving system; provides education and referral to community resources for patients requiring post-acute care services and assists in ensuring a safe discharge through participation in planning, multidisciplinary rounding, and providing care coordination for psychosocial issues inclusive of those effecting social determinants of health; under the direction of a licensed mental health professional (clinical social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist) may provide clinical services and psychotherapy with the goal of resolving psychosocial dysfunction and eliminating barriers to effective disease management.
Starting hourly rate for the Social Worker position is $35.57 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
The Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive, and developmental disorders; includes administration and interpretation of psychosocial tests, creation of treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups; aims to prevent, assess, treat, and resolve, psychosocial dysfunction, enhancing overall mental, emotional, and social well-being; provides clinical supervision in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment provided by the Social Worker; performs all duties of the Social Worker.
Starting hourly rate for the Clinical Social Worker position is $39.47 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Required Education and Experience for Clinical Social Worker Certification Requirement New York State Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Education and Experience Master’s degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited facility and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in Social Work, bereavement counseling, and/or experience in a comprehensive cancer center or a related field.
Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
