About the role

The Nurse Aide I delivers patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse following the Patient & Family Centered Care model. Responsibilities include collaborating with patients and families to ensure dignity, respect, and quality care within the Surgery & Trauma unit.

Overview

The Nurse Aide I supports and incorporates WakeMed's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model by delivering patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

The four key concepts of PFCC are: Dignity and Respect = Listen to and honor patient and family perspectives and choices; Information Sharing = Communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful; Participation = Patients and families are encouraged and supported in participating in care and decision-making at the level they choose; Collaboration = Patients and families and the Nurse Aide I collaborate in the delivery of care.

Nurse Aide I Required Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Experience

1 Year Clinical - Nurse Aide Preferred

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a Nurse Aide I licensure is mandatory. One year of clinical experience as a Nurse Aide is preferred.
