Collects laboratory specimens via various puncture methods and performs basic laboratory procedures under supervision. Manages specimen processing, documentation, and coordinates external transport for test deliveries.
Under moderate direction of the laboratory manager, collects laboratory specimens by venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture for subsequent testing and collects throat culture specimens. Works with specimen collection devices including needles, syringes, and vacutainers. Uses centrifuge and basic laboratory tools. Good patient interaction skills.
One year of phlebotomy experience preferred. Computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
