The Recovery Specialist engages clients to identify strengths and barriers to recovery while developing sobriety-based activities and natural supports. They link clients to recovery communities and coordinate care with the treatment team using a trauma-informed approach.

This full-time position will be based in Granite City, IL.

We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers.

Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Engage clients in services prior to their treatment. Help individuals to identify personal strengths and barriers to achieving treatment and recovery goals and to develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery. Consult and encourage clients on concerns and achievements presented during the recovery process. Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services. Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree or a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state; and five years of demonstrated recovery experience and/or engaged in a recovery network Crisis Intervention Treatment (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use or other social service experience. Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and an electronic medical record (EMR). Are you intrigued by this job but don’t meet every single requirement?
