Perform diagnostic x-ray exams as ordered by providers using proper exposure techniques (MA, KV, time, and distance). Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and families to ensure comfort and understanding. Apply radiation protection practices in accordance with regulatory and safety standards. Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination. Conduct regular quality control checks on radiologic and darkroom equipment to ensure optimal image quality. Complete and maintain appropriate imaging records and referral logs. Ensure all x-ray films and images are stored, tracked, and reviewed in a timely manner.
Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved radiologic technology school with ARRT registration and a current Iowa permit to practice. BLS certification and a valid driver's license are also required.
