About the Role

As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) in the United States, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional, relational, and psychological challenges.

Your primary objective will be to provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote mental health, improve communication, and resolve conflicts within family systems.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate therapy sessions that foster healing and growth.

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community resources will be essential to ensure holistic care for your clients.

Ultimately, your work will contribute to enhancing the overall well-being and resilience of the families and individuals you serve.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid and active Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of practice within the United States.
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of supervised clinical hours as required by state licensing boards.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations governing mental health practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy to diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations including different cultural, socioeconomic, and age groups.
  • Training or certification in specialized therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare or community mental health setting.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities to serve a broader client base.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and delivering remote mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments to understand clients' mental health and relational dynamics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.
  • Provide individual, couple, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Stay current with developments in marriage and family therapy through continuing education and professional development.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed to clients experiencing acute emotional distress.
  • Educate clients about mental health, coping strategies, and relationship skills to empower their personal growth.
