Responsibilities

• Act as the RN First Assistant during operative cases under surgeon direction, including exposure, tissue handling, suction, retraction, and hemostasis
• Maintain sterile technique, assist with draping, instrument and device preparation, and accurate counts to ensure OR readiness
• Position and transport patients safely, monitor intraoperative status, and communicate patient needs with the surgical team and anesthesia
• Assist with intraoperative documentation and ensure charting reflects events per facility policy
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and anesthesia to optimize workflow and patient safety
• Float to the main OR as needed to support cross-coverage and case volume

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license (MA licensure required; conditional license accepted; license documentation required at submission)
• RN First Assistant (RNFA) experience with a minimum of 3 years as an RNFA
• Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred
• Certifications: CNOR, ACLS, BLS (current)
• COVID-19 vaccination with booster required (no exemptions)
• Ability to work in an ambulatory outpatient surgery setting and float to the main OR as needed
• SSN and DOB required for submission
• Local radius: within 50 miles of Pittsfield, MA preferred
