About the role

Provide comprehensive pediatric orthopedic surgical care within a nationally recognized children's health system. Contribute to the expansion of specialty care services for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in Northern Virginia.

Inova Children’s is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join a rapidly growing program at Northern Virginia's only dedicated children's hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children’s health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia.

This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Our group is expanding to nine physicians, creating an opportunity to help shape the division's clinical identity and subspecialty depth.

The group provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care across spine and spinal deformity, limb deformity and reconstruction, orthopedic trauma, cerebral palsy and neuro-orthopedics, hand and upper extremity, sports medicine, and foot and ankle.

Treatment capabilities include early-onset scoliosis management with casting and MAGEC rods, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, and pre-participation examinations for young athletes.

Your role includes: A 1:8 call schedule Orthopedic residents carry primary overnight call; attendings provide backup coverage and supervise resident trauma operative cases.

Diagnose, treat, and manage muscle, skeletal, or bone conditions.

Participate in call and call-related trauma surgical management Order or perform medical diagnostic or clinical tests.

Write routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, and consultations.

Perform and record history and physical examinations.

Evaluate treatment options and develop individualized treatment plans.

Perform surgical or noninvasive procedures and create postoperative-care plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Experience: successful completion of ACGME accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship.

Licensure

Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.

Requirements

Requires a Doctor of Medicine degree, board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, and completion of an ACGME accredited residency and fellowship. Must hold an unrestricted medical license in the State of Virginia and BLS certification.
