About the role

Provide seamless patient care by assisting physicians with clinical duties, rooming patients, and performing medication reconciliation and vitals. Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, chart preparation, and following up on labs and referrals.

Description University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for Medical Assistant or LPN position for our specialty Pulmonary Hypertension clinic located in Knoxville, TN. Candidates must be detail-oriented. Applicants must be familiar with giving instructions, writing orders, and making the patients their top priority. This position will work closely with physicians to provide a seamless patient experience.

Job duties include but are not limited to, assisting physicians with patient care, scheduling appointments, rooming patients during clinic, medication reconciliation, vitals, and 6 MWT. Also before clinic on established patients, chart prep, scanning, obtaining outside medical records. Post clinic, follow up on labs, EKGs, ABG, and sleep studies/referrals. This position also requires the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with physicians, patients and their families while conveying a positive image of the practice.

Requirements

Strong communication skills, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization are critical to the overall success of the candidate. Medical Assistant Certification Prior medical experience is required
