About the role

The Recovery Coach supports individuals in specialty court programs by building rapport and connecting them to community recovery resources. They provide ongoing coaching and coordinate care with treatment teams and court staff to empower long-term success.

Overview We are seeking a Recovery Coach (Specialty Courts) to support individuals involved in specialty court programs by leveraging lived experience and knowledge of recovery resources.

This role focuses on engaging clients early, building trust, and supporting self-directed recovery through connection to community resources and natural supports.

This position is full-time and requires travel throughout Madison and St.

Clair Counties.

The ideal candidate is passionate about recovery, relationship-building, and empowering individuals to achieve long-term success.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Engage clients prior to treatment to build rapport and encourage participation in services
  • Support individuals in identifying strengths, barriers, and recovery goals
  • Assist clients in developing natural supports and participating in sobriety-based activities
  • Provide ongoing encouragement, coaching, and support throughout the recovery process
  • Connect clients to recovery communities, peer supports, and ancillary services
  • Coordinate care with treatment teams, specialty court staff, and community providers
  • Promote recovery-oriented principles including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, wellness, and connectedness
  • Document services and client interactions in accordance with program requirements
  • Travel throughout Madison and St. Clair Counties to meet with clients and community partners

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience or skills in human services or working with adults
  • Ability to work within an organizational structure and accept supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients, providers, and community partners
  • Experience in recovery and/or active engagement in a recovery network strongly preferred
  • Experience in mental health, substance use, criminal justice, CIT, or social services preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and insurability required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems Are you intrigued by this job but don’t meet every single requirement? Requirements
