Diagnose and treat various skin diseases and conditions through physical examinations and diagnostic tests. Perform therapeutic procedures and surgical excisions of malignancies and cysts under physician supervision.
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Diagnoses patient conditions, examines skin to determine nature of disease, administers or orders diagnostic tests, taking blood samples, smears and skin biopsies from affected areas, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Treats illnesses, abscesses, skin injuries, malignancies, skin infections, and other skin conditions Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, and other procedures as appropriate. Assists Physician(s) in surgical procedures, surgically excises cutaneous malignancies, cysts, birthmarks, and other growths, suturing, wound care, and other procedures as appropriate. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Prescribes and administers medications under the supervision of the physician(s) and in accordance with regulations of the State Medical Board/Regulatory agency for PA’s. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service. Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.
