About the role

The Mental Health Advocate monitors patient safety and assists nursing staff with treatment procedures on a dual diagnosis inpatient unit. Responsibilities include documenting behavioral changes, assisting with daily living activities, and facilitating patient groups.

Responsibilities

  • Mental Health Advocate Opportunity - Dual Diagnosis Unit, Part Time Day Shift This is a 24 hour per week, day shift psoition on HRI Hospital's Dual Diagnosis Unit.
  • The schedule for this position is every Monday and Thursday plus every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Prior substance use patient population experienced is preferred.
  • HRI Hospital is 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs.

Qualifications

Requirements

Experience & Education: High School diploma AND a minimum of 3 years of psychiatric experience OR Bachelor’s degree in human services field or current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree AND 1 year of psychiatric experience Other: Excellent interpersonal skills Physical Fitness – Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
