Market context

Michigan histotechnician roles stay selective

In Michigan, histotechnician openings are often driven by hospital and pathology lab staffing needs, so employers tend to look for candidates who can contribute quickly in a clinical setting. These roles are competitive because the requirements commonly include an associate’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited program or HT(ASCP) certification, plus at least one year of histology experience, with stronger consideration for accredited-lab experience. Before applying, compare your training and experience against the posting’s AI-summarized requirements and benefits, which can save time by condensing the original job description into a clearer first review.
