San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to join our Infusion team. This position will provide nursing care to all patients, ensuring adequate care and nursing standards are met.
Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
Responsible for assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards of care relevant to acute care nursing.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Knowledgeable with safe handling and administering chemotherapy agents on a daily basis.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patients.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
Responds to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.

Candidates must have at least an Associate's degree in nursing, a current Colorado RN license, and BLS certification. Preference is given to those with a BSN and one year of med/surgical experience, with a requirement to be chemotherapy certified within six months of hire.
