The Lab Aide is responsible for collecting blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques while maintaining accurate patient records. Additionally, they monitor equipment temperatures, manage inventory, and handle administrative tasks like answering phones and filing reports.

If you are eager to learn how to collect blood specimens from patients to help facilitate testing by laboratory technologists, we would love for you to apply for our part-time & PRN Lab Aide positions!

Please note, the position may work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

What You'll Need

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Certified Phlebotomist, preferred

What You'll Do

Record daily temperatures of incubators, blood bank, refrigerators and other equipment to ensure the quality of supplies and specimens

Utilize the Laboratory computerized management system to ensure timely and accurate record keeping, patient test ordering and billing, along with other specimen/billing processes.

Answer phones, fax results and handle requests for patient results. Copy, fax and file lab reports.

Schedule and perform procedures.

Draw blood by venipuncture, and/or capillary techniques.

Monitor inventory, order and stock supplies.
