As a Clinical Laboratory Technician in our HLA Laboratory, you'll perform high-quality laboratory testing on biological specimens that supports organ, tissue, and stem cell transplantation. Working alongside a team of dedicated laboratory professionals, you'll help ensure accurate, timely test results while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

Perform routine testing of biological specimens in the HLA laboratory following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Prepare and prequalify laboratory reagents used in testing procedures.

Perform donor and patient testing while ensuring accurate and timely results.

Prepare blood products and components, including irradiation and pooling procedures, as applicable.

Participate in blood product inventory management and product issuing activities.

Maintain complete, accurate laboratory records while protecting donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.

Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and quality control of laboratory equipment.

Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

Monitor laboratory inventory levels and communicate supply needs.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.

Participate in continuous quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with laboratory team members to support operational excellence and exceptional customer service.

Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, FDA, AABB, state regulations, and accreditation standards.

What you'll bring

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline required.

Must meet CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing.

  • Licensure
  • State laboratory license, when required by applicable regulations.

Experience

No prior professional laboratory experience required.

Coursework or internship in clinical laboratory science or immunology is preferred.

Experience working in a clinical, molecular diagnostics, immunology, transplant, or histocompatibility laboratory is a plus.
