Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood tests and know all safety requirements.
Receives and distributes specimens in the laboratory.
Processes specimens for testing, storage and send out to reference laboratories.
Demonstrates knowledge of specimen requirements and limitation of testing procedures.
Performs waived testing as required.
Demonstrates knowledge about the functionality of the Lab’s automation line.
Acts as a resource for laboratory information.
Timeliness of specimen collections and contamination.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Candidates must have phlebotomy experience, a phlebotomy certificate, or relevant medical field experience.
