Position Overview

The Therapy Technician at OrthoArkansas plays a vital role in supporting the physical and occupational therapy teams by maintaining clinic operations and providing direct assistance during patient care. This position is responsible for preparing treatment areas, assisting patients with modalities and exercises under supervision, and keeping therapy equipment clean, stocked, and organized. You’ll work closely with licensed therapists and administrative staff to ensure a seamless, high-quality therapy experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Clinic Maintenance
  • Fold, organize, and distribute towels and pillowcases throughout the clinic.
  • Change linens and clean therapy surfaces and equipment using appropriate chemical cleaners.
  • Maintain and clean therapy equipment including splint pan, BTE, paraffin, and hydrocollator.
  • Monitor and record temperatures for paraffin, splint pan, and hydrocollator units.
  • Keep all therapy and splinting areas clean and organized after each patient and at the end of the day. 2. Patient Interaction
  • Greet patients and escort them from the lobby to therapy areas.
  • Prepare patients for therapy sessions under the supervision of licensed therapists.
  • Administer basic modalities such as hot/cold packs and assist with splint preparation and therapeutic exercises. 3. Administrative Tasks
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and organize storage areas as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily functioning of the therapy department. 4. Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team goals and operations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and in small group settings with patients, staff, and the general public.

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic word processing and typing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the therapy team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
