Company Description Quality Veterinary Care is a well-established, progressive, fast paced 4 doctor general small animal practice located in Elmont, NY.

We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital full body and dental radiology, and Ultrasonography.

Quality Veterinary Care is located in Elmont, NY just outside the bustling New York City center on Long Island.

The proximity to the Long Island Railroad allows for easy commute anywhere in the city.

Elmont K-6 public schools are almost all A-rated and boast lower student-to-teacher ratios than the average NY public schools, making it an ideal area to raise a family!

Popular activities in the area include a visit to the Belmont Park Racetrack, a visit to the beach or enjoying the great restaurants in the area.

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications

We’re looking for: An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred. Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator Must be able to properly restrain pets. Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus! Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least one year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant and be proficient in pet restraint. A self-starter attitude and strong communication skills are required, with anesthesia monitoring and lab processing skills considered a bonus.
