Provide hands-on care and support to an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their home and community. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, household chores, and fostering independent living skills and social relationships.
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands on care to an individual with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Personal Support Services professionals assist individuals and families living in their personal home.
Individual programs are designed around the needs and desires of each participant and implemented with attention and care.
Whether living alone or with family members, individually tailored services are the best way to support people on their own terms.
Services provided are personalized and directed by the individual receiving supports and may include but are not limited to: assistance with personal hygiene, activities/outings, social engagement, and shopping.
Paid trainings, including CPR/First Aid
DSP’s assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by:
· Assisting with participation and exploration of the community · Cultivating and expanding independent living skills · Assisting with development of meaningful and personal relationships · Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals
Eligible candidates must have a high school degree/GED and a current driver’s license with less than three points on their driving record.
The hours for this position: Mon and Wed 2:30-6p and 3 weekday mornings 7:30a-8:30a (10 hours/ week) Opportunities for additional hours.
May be paired with other positions to create full time.
I am a young man, within the Bel Air area, who can be described as fun, cooperative, curious, and routine oriented.
I would like a support staff to help me before and/or after by day program in the morning, afternoons, evenings, and some weekends with pursuing some independent living skills and pursuing my favorite activities of choice while in my home.
I enjoy watching movies, playing on the computer, practicing independent living skills such as laundry, baking, crafts, and other household chores.
The hours for this position: Monday through Friday from 7:15/7:30-8:40am and 2:15pm to between 5:00-6:00pm.
PRN respite during the week or weekends.
Respite provider would be needed to provide support to maintain a healthy and safe environment for individual while primary caregiver/parent is away.
This is a perfect job for a college student, or someone retired who just wants a little extra money and part time work.
It does need to be someone that is ok with dogs.
We have one dog named Finn.
He is a coach potato who loves people.
There is some training involved but it would be paid.
