Make a difference when it matters most

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, skilled, and responsive After-Hours Crisis Therapists. As an After-Hours Crisis Therapist, you will respond directly to community-based mental health crises, helping individuals and families navigate difficult situations through assessment, de-escalation, risk mitigation, safety planning, and connection to ongoing supports. This role offers flexibility while allowing clinicians to make an immediate impact in the lives of those experiencing crisis.

Scheduling requirement

• Therapists are required to sign up for a minimum of three on-call shifts per month.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) or Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
  • Active Ohio behavioral health license: LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW (preferred), LPCC (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to respond within the designated service area
  • Experience in community-based behavioral health services
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and crisis evaluations
  • Experience providing de-escalation and stabilization services
  • Knowledge of community behavioral health resources and systems of care
  • What you'll do
  • Respond to mobile crisis service requests during scheduled on-call shifts
  • Mobilize from home or another location and arrive at the client's location within 60 minutes of dispatch
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and crisis evaluations
  • Provide immediate de-escalation and stabilization services
  • Determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate referrals when necessary
  • Develop individualized safety and stabilization plans
  • Connect clients and families to community resources and ongoing treatment services
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding crisis services, risk mitigation, triage, and service access
  • Collaborate with hospitals, law enforcement agencies, schools, and community partners
  • Maintain compliance with MRSS and Crisis Services workflows and data requirements
  • Complete all documentation accurately and within required timelines using the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Utilize scheduling software to manage shifts and communicate with fellow clinicians
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to crisis intervention and evidence-based practices
  • Contribute to program improvement efforts and team collaboration
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

The Crisis are community-based/in-home services. This position responds from therapist’s home to client’s location within the limits of the area of response.

· Must be able to provide mobile-response services by operating their own vehicle.

· See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents;

· Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
