About the role

Provide physician support through administrative tasks like scheduling, referrals, and documentation. Perform clinical duties including preparing exam rooms and collecting patient vitals and specimens.

Medical assistants are responsible for providing physician support and ensuring the facility is running smoothly. This support is offered through many varied administrative tasks such as patient scheduling, assisting with referrals and authorizations, answering phones, filing, documenting, scanning, and faxing. Medical assistants also perform a variety of clinical duties such as preparing exam rooms, collecting patient vitals and specimens, assisting in minor surgical procedure injections, and other routine tasks as assigned.

Education and Training

High school graduate or equivalent.

Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program; or currently enrolled in LPN school with completion of first clinical rotation.

MA certification or registration within 6 months of hire unless currently enrolled in LPN school.

BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Experience

One (1) year related medical office experience; or 160-hour externship completed within the last five years in a medical/office setting; or completion of first clinical rotation through LPN school.

Schedule

Full-time 40 hours per week, 8am - 4: 30pm

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program or LPN school. Candidates must have one year of related experience or a completed externship and obtain BLS and MA certification.
