Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Community Day Support DSP has primary responsibility to provide community based day support including group day support, community engagement and community coaching. Facilitate community inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provides direct support to individuals involved in community.
HS diploma or GED (required) Similar experience (preferred) Certification in CPR, basic First Aid, and medication administration (required but can be obtained upon hire) Valid driver's license (required) Must be available evenings and/or weekends
Evaluate individual's need and goals, develop and implement a schedule of community based day activities, adhere to the person centered plan, and maintain records. Implement supports to ensure the individual's health and safety while also assisting individuals in participating in meaningful activities in their community. Demonstrate professional standards of conduct and confidentiality, work collaboratively with individuals served, families, caregivers and community stakeholders. Candidates who are offered a position must undergo a background check, including social services review, and drug screen. Virginia has restrictions on hiring individuals with certain convictions.
