Perform complex serologic patient testing and antigen typing to ensure donor-recipient compatibility. Maintain accurate records and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations regarding test results.
Blood Assurance is seeking a dependable candidate for a full-time 3rd shift (11pm-7am) Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist in our Nashville lab location. This position offers a shift premium.
Perform basic to complex serologic patient testing and interpret result to determine donor-recipient compatibility.
Perform serologic antigen typing on donor units.
May consult and communicate with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve serologic problems and provide special units to transfusion recipients.
Maintain accurate, legible and complete records.
Adhere to explicit standard operating procedures and interpret test results in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
Qualified candidates must have current MT or MLT Certification and AS/BS Degree. Blood banking experience preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a positive, professional attitude.
