Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications and therapies per orders; respond to changes in condition and emergencies.
• Document care in the medical record; participate in shift handoffs and care planning; ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatal staff, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes and patient-family education.

Requirements

• Active California RN license
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital L&D setting
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and clear communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Adaptability to new unit protocols and charting systems
