About the role

Provide non-clinical peer-to-peer support to empower women in recovery, specifically those who are pregnant or parenting. Assist clients in navigating behavioral health services and ensuring appropriate pre-natal and post-partum care.

PCS is seeking a Full-Time Peer Recovery Support Specialist for the Pearl Program in Rocky Mount.

This program operates a women's recovery residence and supports pregnant and parenting women as they navigate recovery, ensuring appropriate pre-natal and post-partum care, as well as access to behavioral health services.

Peer Recovery Support Specialists provide non-clinical peer-to-peer activities to empower individuals to improve health, recovery, resiliency, and wellness.

The successful candidate will demonstrate lived experience with substance use challenges and a minimum of one year of personal recovery on the application.

Virginia Certification as Peer Recovery Support Specialist preferred.

Doula training is preferred, or willing to complete doula training.

Caregiver experience preferred.

The applicant must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Salary is commensurate with education & experience as it relates to the position.

Schedule

Thurs-Tues 11am-8pm Must be willing to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.

Requirements

Candidates must have lived experience with substance use challenges and at least one year of personal recovery. A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required, while Virginia Peer Recovery certification and doula training are preferred.
