The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Requires a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, a Master's with 2 years, or a PhD with 1 year as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Must hold a New York State Medical Technologist or Histotechnologist license upon hire.
Essential functions
Assists and leads in the development of new methods and procedures, as needed.
Performs the duties of a Medical Technologist II.
Trains technologists on new laboratory methods/instruments and ensures compliance with accepted practices with a high level of expertise.
Maintains compliance of area-specific documentation for essential technical, IT, quality, educational, and/or safety information, including policies, procedures, performance trends, and compliance logs.
Maintains and troubleshoots instrument performance.
Provides input into the performance evaluations/competency checks of technologists, technicians, and other personnel, including students and residents.
Other duties as assigned.
