The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning and executing direct nursing care for surgical patients across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. This includes collaborating with the surgical team and providing patient education to ensure a safe environment.
The Greater New Bedford Surgical and Laser Center was opened in 1986 with the express purpose of rendering high quality, state-of-the-art eye surgery to patients of all ages, especially those with cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, or corneal disease. We also do oculoplastic procedures. The center is designed specifically with the needs of the patient and their family in mind, and the entire process, from initial examination in our clinics in the Eye Health Vision Centers upstairs to the final surgical outcome, is conducted in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with current state licensure and BLS certification. Experience in the operating room, PACU, or critical care is preferred.
