Job Description

Medical assistant

Location: Great Neck, NY

Hours/Days

  • 5 8.5 hour shifts,
  • Mon-Fri between 7am-6:30pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) Breast

In this role, you will

  • Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
  • Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
  • Record patients' vital signs
  • Prepare patients for examinations
  • Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
  • Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
  • Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
  • Other duties as assigned

We require

  • A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
  • Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
