Perform screening mammograms and DEXA scans while ensuring high image quality and patient comfort. Maintain regulatory compliance with MQSA and ACR standards and manage patient documentation via EMR and RIS systems.
The mammography technologist will performing screenings on FTOC patients regardless of ability to pay. Treats patients with dignity and respect during a patient encounter, with the ability to minimize a patient’s anxiety and fear during their exam. Maintains a cohesive working relationship with patients, staff and providers and may act as a resource for those who have questions regarding breast health. Has a strong working knowledge and understanding of MQSA and ACR regulatory requirements.
Perform screening mammogram procedures achieving a high level of image quality using correct anatomical markers and patient positioning. Demonstrate computer competency and accuracy with EMR and RIS. Proficient in Ramsoft, specific to scanning of paperwork, radiologist documentation, status updates and uploading comparative CD studies. Responsible for equipment quality control tests, ACR and MQSA regulatory requirements. Maintains timely upkeep and accuracy with the mammography tracking and reporting system. Specific to exam assessments, lay letter, logging of each patient performed. Skilled at proper implant positioning and use of appropriate technical factors. Explains to patient what will take place during their procedure, what to expect and when she will receive her results. Delivers patient care in accordance with FTOC standards of quality of care. Ensure a secure and safe patient work environment by maintaining awareness to safety hazard and adhering to patient confidentiality and HIPAA. Requires an Associate Degree in Radiologic Science and at least one year of experience as a mammography or DEXA technologist. Must hold CRT and ARRT certifications along with BLS certification and meet specific MQSA clinical experience requirements.
