CHD is seeking an Outreach Caseworker to join our growing Planning and Implementing Housing Options for Long-term Success (PILOTS) team in Danbury, CT. Through this program, the Outreach Caseworker PILOTS staff will use a counseling approach that uses both motivational interviewing and harm-reduction. YOUR ROLE AS A PILOTS SUPPORT SPECIALIST: As a PILOTS Support Specialist, you will assist program participants to live independently in the community by addressing their mental and physical health, substance use, employment and housing needs. PILOT’s staff use a counseling approach that uses both motivational interviewing and harm-reduction. You will help the participants with:
Securing housing, move-in, relocations, interventions in eviction processes, rent arrears and housing stability.
Assist participants with budgeting/banking
Help participants with obtaining and maintaining entitlements.
Provide crisis intervention
Provide vocations assistance; resume writing, interview preparations, and job search assistance.
A high school diploma or GED is required, and experience with psychiatric or co-occurring populations is preferred. Candidates must have a registered and insured vehicle and a clean driving and criminal background record.
