About the role

Conduct initial assessments of pets with urgent needs to determine the required level of care. Collaborate with veterinarians to prioritize treatments and communicate treatment plans clearly to pet owners.

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Triage Specialist. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners in need of emergent care, playing a vital role in assessing and prioritizing cases to ensure every pet receives timely and appropriate care.

We are a 24-hour Emergency, Specialty and Critical Care center located in Syracuse, New York.

We currently have a large team of full and part time emergency clinicians, as well as board certified specialists in surgery, internal medicine, radiology, critical care, and oncology.

We also have a physical rehabilitation suite including underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy pool, and exercise room.

Attached to the VMC is an IDEXX reference laboratory, which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients.

We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to serve as a Triage Specialist for our busy ER/Specialty practice

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage and
  • Assess: Conduct initial assessments of pets presenting with urgent or emergency needs, determining the level of care required.

Collaboration

Work closely with veterinarians and other medical staff to prioritize treatments and coordinate care based on urgency.

Client

Communication: Provide clear and compassionate communication with pet owners, explaining treatment plans and keeping them informed of their pet’s condition. Sign On Bonus Available!
