The Critical Care Technician provides delegated age-appropriate care to patients in Critical Care Units under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include performing basic nursing and personal care tasks and providing continuous safety observation when required.
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Training
REQUIRED: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of date of hire is required.
Licensure
REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
