  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements. You will deliver care to cancer patients and our commitment to excellence and cutting-edge treatments. Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices, safely administers chemotherapeutic agents within our chemotherapy suite, provide professional case management of oral chemotherapy patient population. Current ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card (or ability to achieve within 6 months of employment) is required and Professional nursing experience is highly preferred.

  • DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc. Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education. Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment. Administer IV’s for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy. Perform related work as directed, by coordinator and as required.

Requirements

Candidates must graduate from an accredited school of nursing and possess an Illinois State Registered Nurse License. Professional nursing experience, particularly in hematology-oncology, and a current ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card are preferred.
