Job Description

Performs and assists with interventional and imaging procedures. Upholds the Standard of Practice of a registered technologist.

Job Responsibility

  • Performs exams under the direction of a Senior Special Procedures Technologist and maintains quality assurance.
  • Demonstrates ability to access patient information such as appointment times, type of exam, and patient reports.
  • Demonstrates ability to access patient information such as appointment times, type of exam, and patient reports.
  • Competent in scheduling exams in a computer application from the order entry queue and/or demonstrates the ability to modify exams when necessary.
  • Effectively assesses patients information and status Implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly.
  • Positions patient and radiographic equipment appropriate to the body part(s) to be radiographed and adjusts equipment settings accordingly and demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization and proper maintenance procedure.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

Vocational or Technical school Diploma, required. Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State, required. Current ARRT Radiology registration, required, plus specialized certifications as needed. 1-3 years of technical experience, required.

Hospital experience, preferred.

Per diem role, no benefits.

Typically shifts available M-F 8am-4pm, but could vary.
