About the role

Deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with clinical procedures. Support patient movement, hygiene, and the implementation of specific care plans to ensure safety and quality experience.

Hourly Pay Range

  • $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Position: Per Diem, Patient Care Tech
  • Location: Glenview and Highland Park
  • Per Diem
  • Per Diem Commitment Level: Per Diem Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Per Diem Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Per Diem Level 3: 111-144 hrs./ per 6-week schedule
  • Hours: 2300-0730 or 1500-2330
  • Required Travel: Glenview/ Highland Park Hospital

What you will do

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  • When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation. In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Education

Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Certification

Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association If BLS certification

Experience: Inpatient PCT

Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT medical/surgical experience
