This position is designed exclusively for students who are currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program and are completing their final year of study. It provides an opportunity to gain paid clinical experience while preparing for certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
Under the direction of the Radiologist and supervision of registered Radiologic Technologists, the Student Radiologic Technologist assists with performing diagnostic imaging procedures while developing technical skills in a supportive learning environment. The student will maintain professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional customer service while contributing to quality patient care.
Essential responsibilities
Perform radiographic procedures under appropriate supervision and within student scope of practice.
Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures while explaining exams and addressing questions.
Verify patient identity and ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed.
Document patient history and maintain accurate procedure documentation.
Assist Radiologists and Imaging staff with examinations as needed.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Follow all radiation safety, infection prevention, and hospital policies.
Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and fellow team members.
Participate in departmental quality improvement and educational opportunities.
