The Assessment Clinician performs telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments to determine the appropriate level of care for psychiatric patients. They coordinate the referral and intake process, facilitating admissions in collaboration with psychiatrists and nursing staff.

The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years. The Assessment Clinician provides telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments, including the history of presenting illness, suicide risks, family dynamics, and supporting psychosocial information. The Assessment Clinician has initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. The Assessment Clinician coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

Include: Performing initial clinical assessments to determine level of care. Coordination and disposition of all referral calls to appropriate level of care. Completion of all admission with psychiatrists and nursing staff. Completing pre-certification information and forwarding to appropriate agencies, in conjunction with Business Office and Utilization Review.

Requires a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services with at least two years of crisis experience, or a Registered Nurse license. Candidates should have three years of mental health experience and certifications in CPR and Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk.
