About the role

The Clinical Therapist will provide mobile crisis services as part of the Waukesha County Crisis Intervention Team. This role involves working directly with individuals in crisis to assess and provide appropriate interventions.

Salary Range

$30.32 - $48.76

Work assignment details

Waukesha County Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for a full-time Clinical Therapist. This position will have a primary job assignment on the Waukesha County Crisis Intervention Team and will provide mobile crisis services. Six (6) months of prior experience working for a DHS 34 crisis program is highly preferred. Work hours for this position are Sunday-Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

The Department may choose to underfill this position as a Senior Mental Health Counselor. The salary range for Senior Mental Health Counselor is $30.32 to $42.11.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements 1.

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a master's degree in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational,) counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.

2.

Candidates must have Advanced Practice Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor in Training, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Training, status as a minimum.

3.

Two (2) years of post bachelor work experience in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational), counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements

  • 1) Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology or a closely related field [AND] Two (2) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • OR-

2) Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four (4) courses in sociology, social work, or psychology [AND] three (3) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.

3) A master's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
