About the role

Master's degree with a major in nursing or another health-related area. Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.

Job Description

Knowledge of theories and methodologies for psychiatric evaluations, and counseling; ability to conduct a planned counseling interaction and design a counseling process to facilitate clients’ progress toward meeting counseling goals and objectives, Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. May help individuals deal with issues associated with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; self-esteem, grief and aging.

Performs Psychiatric Evaluations on each patient referred for mental health services, Develops and implements individual treatment plans, Provides support services and participates in the developmental outcomes and strategies as part of the multidisciplinary team. Provides mental health services including counseling, and individual, family, and group therapy. May participate or conduct research related to counseling, psychopathology, psychotherapy, understanding mental health characteristics and quality of life as it relates to social/emotional functioning of the patient.

Participates in Quality Improvement programs (Clinical Effectiveness Group), Adheres to HIPAA and PHI requirements, Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, state and federal regulatory requirements including OSHA, Infection Control, CLIA, HIPAA, UF Disclosure Tracking System, Medicaid Guidelines and general safety.

Routinely attends mandatory staff and Division meetings, Grand Rounds and other necessary trainings to maintain level of current knowledge.

Provides mental health services to 80% of medically scheduled patients per week, Completes appropriate documentation and billing in EMR in a timely manner, closing encounter notes within 48 hours of visit.

Expected Salary: $125,000 to $150,000 depending on education and experience

Required Qualifications

Master's degree with a major in nursing or another health-related area.

Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statues.

Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle required.

This position requires a Level II background check.

Preferred

A doctorate in Nursing from an accredited college or university, which includes one year of supervised internship experience. 1-2 years experience in Psychiatric care setting 1-2 years HIV experience 3-4 years of experience working with children and families.
