Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele unit, including assessment, monitoring, and regular rounds.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders; observe for adverse reactions and document responses.
• Monitor telemetry, interpret findings, and react promptly to changes in patient status in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Perform accurate documentation in the electronic health record; participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and provisional safety checks.
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, rehab and ancillary staff to plan and deliver evidence-based care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge care; ensure safe handoffs during transfers.

Requirements

• Current RN license in Kansas (or eligible for licensure under a compact arrangement) and in good standing.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg Tele or acute care nursing experience.
• Ability to work nights and adapt to schedule variations; capable of handling high-acuity medical-surgical patients.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
