La Clinica is seeking a Dental Sterile technician to be part of fast-paced, integrated Dental team. The dental sterile technician is part of the dental team and works closely with the dental assistants, dentists, hygienists, and other team members. The dental sterile technician position is responsible for cleaning and sterilization of all dental instruments; preparation of restorative, oral surgery and hygiene instruments/cassettes; inventory and ordering of dental supplies, stocking and maintenance of sterile department equipment; record keeping and manual updating; assisting dental assistants and providers in the cleaning of dental exam areas. Must work well in a team environment.
Performs Essential Job Duties
Performs weekly and monthly maintenance on all sterile department equipment.
Performs weekly biological spore testing on all sterilizers.
Runs eyewash station weekly.
Stocks sterile department supplies.
Preps Endo File Boxes for Provider use.
Transfers dirty instruments from operatory cabinets to the sterilization department.
Checks sharps container in dirty operatory cabinet and replaces as needed.
Takes sterilized instruments and cassettes back to designated provider areas.
Updates Safety Data Sheets.
Handles clinical back end service issues and small equipment repairs.
Assists in ordering weekly and monthly clinical supplies and logging costs.
Tracks incoming supply orders and puts in designated clinical areas.
Maintains and updates small equipment inventory documents.
Assigns back up small equipment when equipment is out on repair.
Codes and copies incoming invoices to send to finance.
Processes incoming lab invoices/orders.
Completes assigned trainings via La Clinica’s learning module system (Relias) by required due date.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing to groups and individuals.
