About the role

The counselor manages a caseload of 15-25 clients, facilitating individual and group sessions. Responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocials, establishing DSM 5 diagnoses, and creating monthly treatment and discharge plans.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a Counselor to join our team.

We are a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for adult men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and/or addiction.

The Counselor position is for a Residential level of care.

They will maintain a case load of 15-25.

They will facilitate weekly individuals and groups as assigned.

Utilize appropriate screenings, complete full biopsychosocials with DSM 5 diagnosis and ASAM Placement Criteria.

The Counselor will initiate treatment plans with updated assessments monthly.

They will also initiate discharge planning and work with case management throughout treatment.

Qualifications

Minimum enrolled in Bachelors program that is accredited CADC, LADC, Intern Status, or can qualify for internship through the state board Previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents HMIS Data Entry/ EHR experience Experience using Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel. Crisis Intervention/ de-escalation Group Facilitation Motivational Interviewing/ Person Centered Practices Demonstrates behaviors aligned with LVRM employment policies and standards. Willing to be accountable and receive correction. Excellent verbal, written interpersonal and organizational skills. Healthy personal boundaries Respectful of cultural diversity Good time management. Networking skills This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, offering a competitive benefit package and paid vacation. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.

Requirements

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's program or hold CADC/LADC status. Previous experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred.
